Installation of Fiber Optic Conduit Project - 725-6BB-1613

Crown Castle Fiber, LLC plans to install 338 linear feet of underground fiber optic conduit within Caltrans right-of-way along US Highway 101 at Post Mile 11.47 in the City of Los Angeles, using directional boring techniques. The project involves placing three 1.25-inch and four 4-inch steel casings as protective conduits, with excavation limited to a maximum depth of 60 inches, width of four inches, and length of 338 linear feet. Two 30-inch by 48-inch vaults, two 3-inch risers mounted on existing utility poles, eleven 2-foot by 2-foot potholes, and two 3-foot by 6-foot bore pits will be constructed to support the installation. All work will occur within the existing Caltrans right-of-way without requiring any new land acquisition or relocation of public utilities. Temporary traffic control measures will be implemented to ensure public safety during construction activities in the urban corridor.
