The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity intends to award a sole source contract to Tecan US Inc. for a software and hardware upgrade to an existing Tecan Freedom EVO 150 liquid handling platform at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. This upgrade is necessary to avoid substantial delays and disruptions to an ongoing project. Awarding this contract to any other vendor or pursuing a new automated liquid handling system would increase costs and complicate the project. The procurement is being conducted under the authority that allows other than full and open competition since only Tecan US Inc. can meet the specific requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes, but any interested parties may submit written responses within 15 days if they can provide clear and convincing evidence that they can meet the government’s needs and that competition would benefit the government. If no such responses are received, the contract will be awarded without further notification. The point of contact for this action is [email hidden].
