Intent to Sole Source - Boiler Replacement

This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website (www.fedbizopps.gov). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Chamberlain Mechanical Service, Inc., PO Box 247, Mechanicsville, VA 23111 for the purpose of replacing a supply warehouse boiler to include; removal of the non-functioning boiler, purchase and installation of a Patterson Kelly N1500VX boiler, installation of new fittings for all boiler connections, factory represented start-up of the boiler, and Operation and Maintenance manuals for boiler. Replacement of the boiler is mission critical and must be completed immediately in order to prevent the damage to expensive and temperature sensitive components. The FBI intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies and services will satisfy agency urgent and compelling requirements. Emailed responses will only be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is at the discretion of the Government.
