The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) intends to enter into a sole source lease agreement with the Kent County Department of Aeronautics for office space at Gerald Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This lease will continue TSA's occupancy, which has been in place since 2002, supporting their civil aviation security mission on airport property. The leased space, totaling 3,393 square feet split between Terminal 2 Concourse and Concourse B, is used for training, administration, and break room purposes for TSA staff. The lease term will cover five years, including one 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods. This lease is awarded on a sole source basis under FAR 6.302-1, as only this provider can fulfill TSA's specific operational requirements at this airport location, crucial for being near TSA's screener workforce. Consequently, no proposals will be accepted from other sources, and the contract will be negotiated directly with the Kent County Department of Aeronautics without further notice. The contracting office managing this effort is part of the Department of Homeland Security, with a designated contact specialist available for inquiries.
