Interstate 10 Corridor Project

The Interstate 10 Corridor Freight and Express Lane Project, administered by Caltrans District 8, involves an amended Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-SBR-46644-R6) approved by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife on September 16, 2025. The project is located in San Bernardino County, extending from the I-15 interchange to Pepper Avenue and spanning the cities of Ontario, Fontana, Rialto, and Colton. The scope of work focuses on construction activities and temporary impacts within specific waterways, including Day Creek, San Sevaine Creek Channel, Lower Etiwanda Creek, and thirteen other unnamed channels tributary to the Santa Ana River. Key construction activities include the relocation of an outlet at Feature 16 in the Day Creek Channel, the reconstruction of an onramp bridge and roadway widening at Feature 20 in the San Sevaine Creek Channel, and the installation of drainage outlets, barrier walls, new channel connections, and the relocation of an access ramp at Feature 21 in the I-10 Channel. The project is governed by Fish and Game Code section 1602, and approval is contingent upon the implementation of specific mitigation measures to ensure no significant environmental effects occur within the jurisdiction of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
