IPL26 B8139 Construct Wall and Install Double Doors

Navfac Washington, under the Department of the Navy, has issued a forecast for project IPL26 B8139 to construct a new wall and install double doors between the old building in area 103 and the newer main hanger bay. The project requires the removal of an existing rollup door that currently remains open, creating an inefficient gap between the two spaces. The primary objective of this installation is to separate the climate-controlled environment of area 103 from the non-climate-controlled hanger bay. By establishing this physical barrier, the Navy aims to eliminate the ongoing loss of energy used to heat and cool area 103, thereby mitigating the negative mission impact of wasted energy resources.
