IROBOT PACKBOT PARTS - SOLE SOURCE NOTICE

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND QUOTES WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. The NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center San Diego intends to issue a fixed priced contract award on a sole source basis to IROBOT CORPORATION, 8 Crosby Dr, Bedford MA 01730-1402 for IROBOT PackBot Spare Parts. This product is a commercial item as defined in FAR Part 2. The procurement will be processed in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.106-1(b). No solicitation exists for this requirement. Market research has determined IROBOT CORPORATION is the original manufacturer. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 334511 for Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing. Interested parties capable of satisfying this requirement may submit offers in the form of capability statements not to exceed three (3) pages in length describing expert knowledge and responsibility to produce the product to the point of contact no later than 9:00 am September 1, 2011 Pacific Standard Time via email. Mandatory terms and conditions of Federal Acquisition Regulations 52.212-4, and 52.212-5 will apply to the anticipated award wherever applicable. The acquisition process is conducted under FAR Part 12 - Acquisitions of Commercial Items. Award shall be pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) and 13.501-(a)(1) using simplified acquisition procedures.
