The Naval Sea Systems Command plans to modify contract N00024-02-C-6202 with Oceaneering CLT, Chesapeake, VA, to add 68,000 man hours for Dry Deck Shelter Planning Yard efforts, distributed evenly over the remaining four years of the contract. This modification allocates 17,000 man hours for each option period, reflecting the need for sustained design support for operational dry deck shelters. Oceaneering CLT, having secured the original competitive award in May 2002, remains the sole qualified source capable of delivering the additional man hours without causing program delays. This extension ensures continuity and expertise continuity in design support services critical to the success of the Dry Deck Shelter program. By maintaining the contractor already familiar with the project’s requirements, the Naval Sea Systems Command aims to prevent disruptions or setbacks in the program’s schedule and execution. The contract adjustment addresses increasing workload demands while leveraging the contractor's existing knowledge base and capacity.
