J--Engineering and Management Efforts in Support of DDG 51 Class Post Shakedown Availabilities.

The Naval Sea Systems Command plans to negotiate a Basic Ordering Agreement with Northrop Grumman Ship Systems to provide advanced planning, engineering, and management support for Post Shakedown Availabilities related to the DDG 51 AEGIS Destroyer Class Program. This support includes required materials and on-site engineering liaison activities. Specific cost-type orders for engineering and management support concerning PSAs of the DDG ships numbered 89, 91, 93, 95, 97, 98, and 100 will be negotiated on a sole source basis with Bath Iron Works (BIW). The scope of work involves advance planning and engineering assistance, as well as handling emergent availability tasks such as Restricted Availabilities, drydocking, and technical availabilities. Each individual order placed under the BOA will be synopsized when required, following applicable regulations. Subcontracting opportunities related to these efforts are directed to the designated shipbuilder. The agreement aims to ensure that necessary technical and management support is available for maintaining and upgrading the DDG 51 class destroyers during their post-shakedown maintenance periods, helping to sustain their operational readiness and effectiveness.
