AI Contract Overview

This contract involves the procurement of 15 units of fire extinguishers requiring repair or modification, identified under the NSN 7H-4210-014074574 with TDP version 002. The delivery terms are FOB origin, and the items are to be issued to Pacific Scientific Co. in Miami, Florida. The Government intends to negotiate directly with a sole source rather than conduct a competitive bidding process, although interested parties may express interest or submit quotes prior to award. The contract specifies that the Government does not possess or intend to purchase data or rights needed to acquire the parts from multiple sources due to economic impracticality, and reverse engineering is also considered uneconomical. The procurement is managed by the Department of Defense, specifically through the Navsup Weapon Systems Support office in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Award of the contract requires that the offeror, product, or manufacturer meet established qualification requirements according to applicable FAR clauses. While commercial item acquisition policies under FAR Part 12 are not being applied, entities can still indicate their capability to meet the Government's needs with commercial items within a 15-day window from the notice. Interested parties are directed to consult military and federal specifications through designated DoD document services and online resources for necessary documentation related to the contract.
