Full Description

The Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey, Great Lakes Science Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan has a requirement for haulout, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the Research Vessel Kaho. The Kaho, constructed in 2011, is a 71¿ overall length, aluminum hull research vessel. Her home port is Oswego, New York. A sampling of the services include dry dock; pressure wash the hull; repair underwater hull coating; renew deck coating; repair valves; renew propulsion shafts; refurbish propellers, clean tanks; repair hull damage; add bow spray deflectors; repair/upgrade hydraulic system; repair joinery; install wireless controller for crane; install hearing protection and communication system; replace radar, echo sounder, compass, and sonar; replace anchor winch; upgrade hydraulic system; and install new trawl gallows. Upon completion of inspection, maintenance, and repair services, the contractor will launch the vessel. Proposals are being requested under Request for Proposals 140G0118R0004, which will be issued at Fedbizopps.gov and FedConnect.net on or about 11/01/2017. There will be a site visit of the R/V Kaho in Oswego, NY on 11/10/2017. Additional information regarding the site visit will be provided in the solicitation. The offeror is responsible for monitoring the Fedbizopps.gov or FedConnect.net site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any).
