The Department of Veterans Affairs plans to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to Hydro Services and Supplies for maintenance and support services related to Reverse Osmosis and Deionized water systems at two VA Connecticut Healthcare System locations, West Haven and Newington, CT. The contract will have a base period plus four one-year option periods. This procurement is conducted as a sole source under FAR 6.302-1 due to a brand name requirement, as the existing water purification equipment at these locations is exclusively Hydro Services and Supplies’ systems. To ensure compatibility and maintain warranties, all maintenance and replacement components must be from the same manufacturer, preventing use of other brands which may risk equipment failure or void warranties. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals or quotes but a market research effort to identify any other qualified sources capable of meeting these requirements. The government is not obligated to pay for any information submitted and will consider all responses received within 15 days of the notice posting to assess whether a competitive procurement is feasible. Interested parties must submit written responses with documented capability to provide the services, and all communications are to be sent via email to the designated VA contact. The government retains sole discretion in determining whether to continue with the brand name restriction or to pursue competition.
