The Fort Riley Contracting Office plans to award a sole source contract modification to Safety Kleen, the current contractor, for solvent recycling services at Fort Riley, Kansas. This action is taken under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulation clause 52.217-8 and Part 6, Subpart 6.302-1, which justify a sole source procurement due to there being only one source. The contract modification will extend the period of performance by six months, utilizing the pricing established during the third option year, as no new pricing was obtained or evaluated during the solicitation process. The contractor is responsible for providing solvent recycling services using a closed loop system, maximizing solvent reuse, and executing all transport, disposal, and recycling activities using their own employees, vehicles, and facilities without subcontracting any part of the work. Interested parties who believe competition could be advantageous to the Government are invited to submit technical capabilities, pricing, and other relevant information within 15 days of the notice posting. Submissions must demonstrate the ability to meet the Government’s requirements and are to be sent to the Directorate of Contracting at Fort Riley. However, this announcement is not a solicitation; no bids or proposals will be accepted or evaluated for award purposes. Instead, any responses will be used solely to determine if there are viable alternative sources that could provide comparable or better service than the current contractor. Requests for technical information by phone will not be entertained, and no solicitation documents are available.
