The contract involves providing preventive and remedial maintenance services for government-owned paper shredders at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center in Fallon, Nevada, for the period from October 1, 2012, through September 30, 2013. The scope of work includes quarterly scheduled maintenance encompassing field service, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of all listed shredder models. Preventive maintenance also covers a quarterly annual knife change and sharpening specifically for the SEM 22 model with X-22 disintegrator. Repairs are included for minor parts and adjustments, while major repairs involving significant drive components or cutting head rebuilds require separate quotations. A 48-hour response time is stipulated for remedial service calls, with no charges for repairs not involving major component replacement. The contract covers a wide range of shredder models from various manufacturers such as Fellowes, Destroyit, SEM, Intimus, Dahle, and Shredmaster located across several buildings and hangars. The maintenance service excludes replacement of major electrical components or disintegrator knives that have reached the end of their useful life, ensuring clear boundaries on the extent of repair responsibilities.
