NASA/JSC has a requirement for a one year maintenance contract on a Maxum machineand upgrade to Fortus eV ABS-M30 Capability.NASA/JSC intends to purchase the service from Stratasys who is the sole manufacture ofthe machines and is the only responsible source for providing the services. It is notpossible to award to another vendor due to the detailed knowledge required and the supplyof replacement parts for the machine maintenance.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:30 p.m. local timeon February 17, 2012. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.
