This contract involves the procurement of a parts kit identified by NSN 7H-4820-015313272-L1, specifically for the repair or modification of ball valves. The total quantity ordered is five kits, which are to be delivered to a receiving officer at Kittery, Maine. The issuance of these parts is designated for A & A Co Inc., located in South Plainfield, New Jersey. This procurement is being conducted under a Notice of Intent that is not a solicitation for competitive quotes; instead, the government plans to negotiate directly with a single source supplier. However, the notice does invite other interested parties to express their interest or submit quotes before the award date, though the government retains sole discretion over whether to pursue competition. The rationale for this sole-source approach is based on the government's current lack of sufficient, accurate, or legible data to procure the parts from any supplier other than the incumbent. The solicitation relates to a Department of Defense office under NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Mechanical, with the office located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The contract is classified as a presolicitation and does not specify set-aside status or a NAICS code. The government emphasizes that information received through responses to this notice will primarily inform whether to proceed with a competitive procurement or continue with the sole source action.
