The Department of Veterans Affairs, through the Network Contracting Office 9 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is issuing an emergency sole-source intent to award a Firm Fixed Price contract to Steris Corporation in Mentor, Ohio, for the urgent repair of three non-operational Steris Vision Instrument Washers at the Memphis VA Medical Center. The washers, identified by serial numbers 3628019030, 3628019032, and 3628019031, have been rendered inoperative due to condensation damage from a steam leak, creating an immediate operational impact on sterile processing capabilities critical to patient care. The contractor is required to provide all labor, parts, materials, equipment, transportation, and shipping necessary to fully restore each washer to full operational functionality in strict compliance with the original equipment manufacturer’s specifications. Only technicians certified and trained by Steris to service its sterilization equipment are authorized to perform the work, and upon request, the contractor must submit training certificates or notarized copies to verify compliance. The procurement is authorized under FAR 13.106-1 due to the urgent nature of the requirement, precluding competitive bidding, and is classified under NAICS code 811210. The contractor must maintain the highest standard of professional workmanship throughout the repair process and be registered in the System for Award Management as mandated by FAR 52.232-33. While the contract value is not specified, performance is expected to occur on-site at the Memphis VA Medical Center, with acceptance conducted by the government following completion. All responses must be submitted in writing via email to Daphne Stewart, Contract Specialist, no later than April 28, 2026, at 4:30 PM Eastern Time. No formal evaluation factors, line-item pricing, or detailed delivery schedules are provided, as this is a sole-source action based on emergency need rather than competitive selection.
