Full Description

In accordance with FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No other Supplies or Services will satisfy agency requirement. The VA Center for Wheelchairs and Assistive Robotics Engineering, VA Pittsburgh Healthcare Systems intends to negotiate a Sole Source Award with LPKF Distribution, Inc., dba LPKF Laser & Electronics. LPKF Laser & Electronics shall provide: preventive maintenance and repairs for LPKF ProtoLaser U4. The ProtoLaser U4 systems utilize a LPKF Laser & Electronics patented process for hatch and delamination of metallization on PCB substrates; LPKF Laser &Electronics is the only company which sells the ProtoLaser U4 systems an LPKF patented process and are a proprietary design, therefore another firm would not be familiar with the rationale of the design; not be able to accurately address Request for Information (RFI s); or accurately maintain this equipment or provide of services for the maintenance plan and extended warranty. The anticipated period of performance is 5/01/2020 to 4/30/2024, with three, one-year option periods, at the Pittsburgh VA located at University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15240. The NAICS code for this procurement is 334510 Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing. The size standard is 1,250 million. Interested parties that can meet the capabilities and requirements, may identify their interest and submit quotations. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. Interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements, must submit information about their capabilities no later than 2:00 PM EST, 03/20/2020. All information shall be provided at no cost, or obligation to the Government. No solicitation will be made available. Information must be sent to the Contract Specialist, contact@example.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Contracting Department will proceed with the sole source negotiation with LPKF Distribution, Inc., dba LPKF Laser & Electronics. (March 2020)
