Intent to Sole Source
The Department of Veterans Affairs, LTC Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center, Biomedical Engineering Department (138BE), 2215 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105-2303, in an accordance with FAR 6.302.1 Only one (1) Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will satisfy Agency Requirements and Intends to Negotiate on a Sole Source Basis with the following vendor:
Getinge USA Sales, LLC 45 Barbour Pond Drive Wayne, NJ 07470
Getinge USA Sales, LLC provides the Corrective and Preventative Maintenance procedures and Services on the Government owned Getinge equipment located at the facility. All parts are required to be ONLY Getinge parts and shall be used for both repairs and preventative maintenance to maintain the original U.S. Food and Drug Administration FDA 510K per-market approved configuration of this equipment.
All services provided under this contract must be performed in conformance with the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), ISO 9001:2008 Quality Control Certified, and Original Equipment Manufacturer standards and specifications. Getinge USA Sales, LLC is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of this equipment and operational software and has certified, trained technicians to ensure that the proprietary equipment and software are running at full capacity.
Getinge USA Sales, Inc. can provide the necessary equipment that is required to repair the equipment with the least amount of downtime and does not allow a third-party distributor to provide the installation of parts, maintenance, and services.
Getinge USA Sales, Inc. is the only firm capable of providing the supplies and services above without the Veteran s Health Administration experiencing substantial duplication of cost that could not be expected to be recovered through competition and unacceptable delays in fulfilling its requirements.
NAICS Code 811210 applies to this Procurement. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must clearly indicate and show proof that they are a Certified Technician by the Original Equipment Manufacturer. Responses must also show proof that they can perform the Preventative Maintenance and Services on the Getinge USA Sales, LLC government owned equipment while following all local, state, and federal regulations at a fair and reasonable price. Responses must also clearly indicate they can provide these services and possess the proper certification.
