The Human Health & Performance Directorate (HH&PD) at NASA is responsible for ensuring the health and productivity of humans during all phases of spaceflight. This includes providing flight and ground-based healthcare, occupational health, research, test subject screening, and support functions. The goal is to achieve NASA's mission objectives. HH&PD collects, processes, stores, uses, and disseminates human subject health-related information to fulfill these functions. They use various data management products and services, including an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, to support operational decision-making. The purpose of the JSC Clinic is to recognize, evaluate, control, and mitigate illness and disease associated with the flight and institutional work environments and to ensure the health, productivity, and wellness of the JSC team members. NASA intends to replace the current commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) EHR system at JSC with a new COTS EHR solution. The current EHR is installed primarily on-premises at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, with limited cloud-based test environments and connectivity. Backup facilities are in White Sands, New Mexico. This configuration is stable, well-understood, expandable, secure, and highly functional.
