K--Battle Control System Software Upgrade

The contract modification under F19628-03-C-0045 involves Thales-Raytheon Systems adding Spiral 3 and Spiral 4 software builds to the Battle Control System-Fixed, as well as the initial delivery to the Battle Control System-Mobile. The upcoming Spiral 3 will focus on enhancing software capabilities, including multi-operating system porting, integration of XML TBMCS interfaces, improvements to AN/TPS-75 mode 4, support for remote operator workstations, increased system capacity, integration with ACO, enhancements to Link 16, migration toward network-centric operations, and development of human-machine interfaces. Spiral 4 will address priority two CAIV requirements from the current BCS System Capability Description (SCD), covering hardware technology refresh for BCS-Fixed, introduction of NATO Link 1, Mode 5 functionalities, WX XML interface integration, worldwide coordinate support, SIAP migration, updates to Link 16 message sets and simulators, command and control decision tools, ETMS, and support for Distributed Mission Operations. This modification ensures the Battle Control System evolves with technological advancements and meets operational demands across both fixed and mobile platforms.
