SUNY Upstate Medical University plans to acquire Karl Storz Endoscopy Products and related items through a procurement process authorized by Vizient under section 163 (3) (vi) of the NYS Finance Law. This law permits purchases from a consortium or similar entity without a formal competitive process when justified by favorable pricing. Vendors offering equivalent products must demonstrate clinical performance comparable to Karl Storz products, supported by clinical documentation, and must be authorized to sell Karl Storz or an approved equivalent. The procurement process emphasizes strict adherence to the NYS Lobbying Law, restricting contact to a designated individual, Rachel Hawthorne, to avoid violations that could impact contract awards or lead to debarment. Vendors are required to submit current NYS Workman’s Compensation and Disability Forms if awarded the contract. The contract duration aligns with the existing Vizient agreement, covering all NYS counties, with a response deadline of October 20, 2025. The procurement is open to any qualified business entity capable of providing the specified products, with the primary point of contact being Rachel Hawthorne at SUNY Upstate Medical University’s Hospital Purchasing Department.
