The Department of Veterans Affairs through the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Healthcare System is seeking technical training services focused on the repair and preventive maintenance of Kavo dental handpieces for its Biomedical Equipment Support staff. This initiative is designed to empower two designated biomedical technicians with the hands-on skills necessary to perform component-level repairs, including disassembly, bearing and turbine replacement, lubrication, cleaning, troubleshooting, and post-repair performance testing on both electric and pneumatic Kavo handpieces. The training must be delivered in-person onsite at the San Antonio, Texas facility by instructors who are officially certified by Kavo and possess proven expertise in their repair protocols. The contractor is required to provide not only the instruction but also complete tool sets and an inventory of repair parts to ensure ongoing in-house service capability. All deliverables must align with Kavo’s manufacturer-specific standards, and the curriculum must prepare participants to independently conduct full-service maintenance without external support. The solicitation, identified as 36C25726Q0563 and posted on May 13, 2026, with a response deadline of May 19, 2026, is a sources-sought notice for market research and does not constitute a formal contract award. Responses must be submitted via email to Rafael Rodriguez, the primary point of contact, and must include specific business information such as the Unique Entity ID, business size classification, and socioeconomic status including any applicable designations like SDVOSB, VOSB, 8(a), HUBZone, or WOSB. Offerors must confirm current SAM registration status and provide the expiration date. No formal contract clauses, evaluation factors, pricing structures, or detailed administrative data are included in the notice, as it is strictly a pre-solicitation information request. The place of performance is clearly defined as the VA facility in San Antonio, Texas, and all training must occur there; no remote, virtual, or offsite options are acceptable. Although packaging, inspection criteria, invoicing procedures, payment details, and contract administration information are not specified, the requirement for certified instructors and complete tool and parts delivery underscores a focus on operational readiness and long-term self-sufficiency for the VA’s biomedical team.
