The City of Valdosta is soliciting sealed bids for the Knights Creek Trunkline Rehabilitation Phase 2 project, which involves installing approximately 2,450 linear feet of 24-inch gravity sewer along with related infrastructure. The scope includes clearing and grubbing the easement area, conducting preconstruction surveys to establish performance benchmarks, and maintaining continuous sewer system operation through bypassing arrangements during construction. Demolition of existing sewer lines may be required before installing new piping, which could involve open cut or pipe bursting methods, or a combination of both, provided that manhole spacing and pipe material consistency are maintained throughout the system. The project also entails constructing six new 60-inch precast concrete manholes, implementing erosion control measures, and final stabilization with permanent grassing. Upon completion, a final as-built survey will be commissioned to document the new infrastructure. Bids are due by 10:00 AM on April 10, 2025, and the project is estimated to cost between 1.5 and 2.5 million dollars. The contract is managed by the City of Valdosta, with Chelsea Nevels serving as the primary contact. Interested bidders can find additional details and submit responses through the designated online portal. The project aims to enhance sewer system capacity and reliability within the specified area, adhering to all relevant construction and environmental standards.
