Lease Agreement to Cox Communications for Utility Improvements at the Port Operations Center in National City

The San Diego Unified Port District is entering into a five-year easement agreement with Cox Communications to support utility and telecommunications improvements at the Port Operations Center in National City, California. This easement grants Cox Communications exclusive use of approximately 930 square feet of land for the construction, operation, maintenance, repair, replacement, and inspection of conduit, cables, fibers, and related infrastructure. The easement is a necessary amendment to previously approved Project No. 2026-011, which involved upgrades to telecommunications services at the Port Operations Center. Although the agreement is limited in duration and scope, it is critical to enabling Cox Communications to execute essential utility improvements that support regional communications infrastructure. The project is located entirely within National City, California, and all interactions under the agreement are governed by the terms specified in the easement document, with primary oversight handled by the Port District’s Asset Manager II and Planner I.
