The Department of the Interior, acting on behalf of the Army National Guard Training Division, has issued a limited sources justification for awarding a contract related to the eXportable Combat Training Capability (XCTC) program. This contract involves procuring both equipment and services essential for the XCTC training initiative. Under the authority of FAR 8.450-6(a)(1)(C), the government has negotiated exclusively with a single source, SRI International, without issuing a solicitation or inviting competitive quotes. The order, a follow-on to a previous task order awarded through full and open competition, was officially awarded on September 19, 2014, with a total contract value of just over $67.8 million. This procurement action emphasizes continuity and efficiency by selecting SRI International as the sole provider due to prior experience and established performance on the original GSA schedule task order. The contract facilitates timely and specialized support for the Army National Guard’s training requirements within the XCTC program. No competitive bidding process is involved in this award, underlining the justification for limited source acquisition as documented in the official Limited Sources Justification available through FedConnect. The contracting activity is managed by the Interior Business Center Acquisition Services Directorate located in Herndon, Virginia.
