NA Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, WA intends to negotiate and award a firm fixed priced contract on 27 June 2002 to Cascade Regional Blood Services of Tacoma, WA, and to Puget Sound Blood Center of Seattle, WA under FAR 6.302-2, Unusual and Compelling U rgency for supplementing decreasing inventory levels of plasma products and services to assist with the treatment of heart surgery, burn and bone marrow patients during emergency situations at Madigan Army Medical Center to support the Armed Services Blood Bank Center and Transfusion Services when the circumstance requires a delivery turnaround of less than two hours. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon re sponses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A solicitation will not be issued.
