The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Complex in Coleman, Florida intends to negotiate on a sole source base under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1 with Embarq/Sprint, 5454 W. 110th St., Shawnee Mission, KS 66211-1204, for the provision of wired telecommunications services. Services to be provided include local and long distance wired telecommunications services. The purchase order shall consist of a twelve month period. Any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by October 22, 2008, 2:00 p.m. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with requirements listed and show that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source acquisition to Embarq/Sprint. All vendors are hereby notified that if your response is not received by the date and time specified in this notice, it will not be considered.
