Full Description

Description of the Requirement. The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) is seeking to purchase realtime log analysis equipment, and related services to support the Future Digital System (FDSys) from Patriot Technologies, 5108 PEGASUS COURT, Fredrick, MD. The GPO intends to sole source these items in accordance with MMAR 6.302-1. GPO is currently using equipment and support services through this vendor, and this vendor will be involved in its installation and usage. Standardization of the equipment and services through one vendor will save the government time and money in the management of the products and this is highly desirable due to the time restraints of this project. In addition, this hardware is purchased in order to match the current infrastructure standards being used within the GPO infrastructure. GPO has also standardized on specific equipment for the Test environment. In order to minimize the differences between the Test and Production systems, GPO must purchase similar equipment for the Production environment. Impact on government: GPO is under very strict time restraints to have this work done. Any major deviation from the test environment could cost the government unnecessary time and money due to an additional troubleshooting phase. Therefore it is recommended that Patriot Technologies be awarded a sole source contract to perform this requirement to ensure that GPO will successfully complete this upgrade. This notice is neither a request for proposal nor a solicitation of offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All parties interested may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. See Note 22.
