The project involves the replacement of the synthetic turf athletic field at Lucchesi Park, encompassing approximately 87,000 square feet. The scope of work includes removal and reconstruction of the existing perimeter drainage system, consisting of the installation of new perforated drainpipe, drain rock, and geotextile fabric within the trench lines and beneath the turf, as well as installation of a new drainage/shock pad layer and replacement of the existing synthetic turf system, including new infill materials. All turf materials, including synthetic turf, drainage/shock pad, and infill, will be procured through the California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) purchasing program. The project also includes Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements, such as the replacement of non-compliant pathway segments to achieve latest standards, installation of a new accessible drinking fountain, and resurfacing and striping of accessible parking stalls, including required signage. The project construction duration is approximately 120 working days. All construction activities and improvements will occur entirely within the existing developed field area of Lucchesi Park. No expansion of use or disturbance of previously undeveloped areas is proposed. On August 4, 2025, Petaluma City Council Adopted Resolution No. 2025-118 N.C.S. Authorizing the Purchase of Synthetic Turf Materials from Field Turf USA, Inc., through the California Multiple Award Schedules (CMAS) Program.
