The contract extends the existing security services agreement with Swetman Security Services through September 30, 2004. This extension allows additional time to prepare a detailed Statement of Work for the division of security responsibilities as determined by the recent A-76 study. According to the study's outcome, supervisory, administrative, inside security, and some motorized patrol duties will remain under government control, while most motorized patrol and all security guard functions at the guard gates will be handled by a commercial activity. The forthcoming solicitation, managed by AFRH-G, requires that interested bidders be current holders of the General Services Administration Federal Supply Schedule per FAR Part 8, ensuring compliance with federal procurement regulations. This extension is designated as a Total Small Business Set-Aside under FAR 19.5, indicating that only small businesses are eligible to compete for the new contract. The contract relates to NAICS code 928110, which covers security services. The contracting officer overseeing this process is Kathy L. Spainhower, who can be contacted for more information.
