AI Contract Overview
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) within the U.S. Department of the Treasury intends to award a sole-source contract for the supply of specialized machine-readable intaglio ink used in the production of U.S. currency and other security products. This ink must possess specific machine-readable characteristics, be compatible with BEP's intaglio presses, and meet stringent U.S. Currency Program design requirements. The vendor identified for this acquisition is SICPA Securink Corporation, recognized as the sole provider with the proprietary technology, production capacity, and technical expertise necessary to fulfill BEP’s unique, security-sensitive needs. Market research conducted by BEP confirmed that no other sources can meet the government’s minimum specifications, as the requirement involves highly specialized materials and production processes not commercially available or nondevelopmental. While this notice is not a solicitation for competitive bids, interested parties may submit capability statements, technical documentation, past performance records, and business size information by June 18, 2026, for consideration. The government retains sole discretion on whether to move forward with a competitive process based on any responses received. All communications should be directed to Wesley Rankins at the BEP.
