AI Contract Overview
The contract involves the provision of all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to maintain and perform preventive maintenance on the Incucyte SX5 system (serial # IC70655). This system is vital for the National Cancer Institute's research into cellular responses to DNA damage, aiding in the identification of new therapeutic targets for enhancing cancer treatments such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The Incucyte SX5 enables efficient, high-throughput analysis by automating real-time data collection, facilitating parallel experiments across multiple labs with minimal manual intervention, and reducing costs by lowering reagent use. It is heavily utilized to monitor cancer cell death, proliferation, immune marker presentation, and cell movement under various experimental conditions. Due to its continuous operation in a humidified environment, regular preventive maintenance and adjustments are required to prevent costly repairs and downtime. All maintenance services are to be carried out on-site, following the manufacturer's standard commercial maintenance practices, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of the system. The contract is a presolicitation posted by the National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services, located in Bethesda, Maryland, with a response deadline of June 26, 2026. The solicitation number is 75N98026Q00636, and there is no set aside for small businesses. The designated point of contact is Vishnuvajjala Hanumanth Rao, reachable via the provided email.

Full Description
The Contractor shall provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to maintain and provide preventive maintenance for Incucyte SX5 serial # IC70655. The NCI studies the cellular response to DNA damage in order to identify novel targets, as well as targetable synthetic lethal interactions, to augment cancer therapies, including radio and chemotherapy. The characterization and validation of these targets requires the detailed analysis of the response of many cell lines to a wide combination of drug treatments and genetic modifications. The IncuCyte SX5 system allows this to be done in an efficient and high throughput manner, requiring less hands-on time from investigators, and on a smaller scale, thus reducing costs due to the requirement for fewer consumable reagents. In addition, the IncuCyte SX5 system collects data in an automated, real-time fashion, so that multiple investigators from different labs can perform experiments in parallel, and it allows data collection over weekends and holidays, maximizing the data output of the experiments. The system is used frequently to collect real time data about the timing and mode of cancer cell death in response to a variety of experimental treatments, to measure cell proliferation, to measure the presentation and recruitment of immune modulating surface markers (ex. PD-L1) and to measure cell migration and invasion. Given the near constant use in a humidified environment, the system requires preventitive maintenance and frequent adjustments to avoid costly repairs and downtime. All maintenance services shall be performed on-site in accordance with the manufacturer’s standard commercial maintenance practices.
