The United States Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command is conducting a market survey to identify potential manufacturers capable of producing the existing Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV), which includes a variety of 2½-ton and 5-ton trucks and trailers with various configurations such as cargo, van, chassis, airdrop cargo, trailers, tractors, wreckers, and specialized platforms like HIMARS-related vehicles. The scope includes not only vehicle production but also System Technical Support and Maintenance Technical Representative services, with a focus on vehicles that comply with specific Army Technical Purchase Descriptions and Vehicle Characteristic Sheets. Interested firms are invited to provide detailed responses addressing their manufacturing capabilities, past military vehicle experience, logistics support, engineering proficiencies, production capacity, and ability to meet armor and other defense requirements. The survey explicitly seeks commercially available information without requesting proprietary data, emphasizing that the results will guide future acquisition decisions without obligating the Government. Responses must be submitted electronically by a set deadline and should include company profiles, production capabilities, engineering tools, and support services related to the FMTV program. The survey also probes respondents’ experience with Army-specific requirements such as repair parts provisioning, technical manual development, modeling and simulation data, and integrated logistics support. This effort aims to gauge industry readiness to participate in a follow-on acquisition beginning in FY08 and to inform the development of future solicitations and contracts for these critical tactical vehicles.
