Master Plan Modification (00927693-PMPC) for Wal-Mart Expansion in Von Karman Plaza.

The City of Irvine is overseeing a Master Plan Modification for the expansion of a Walmart store located in Von Karman Plaza, California. The project involves adding 4,454 square feet to the existing 117,780 square-foot facility, bringing the total store size to 122,234 square feet. This new area is specifically designed to serve as a storage, staging, and dispensing zone for retail merchandise ordered by customers for online pickup. In addition to the building expansion, the project includes site improvements such as the installation of 19 pickup parking stalls, including one accessible stall, along with new curbs, ramps, sidewalks, a trash enclosure, and landscaping along the project boundary lines. The project has been granted a Notice of Exemption under CEQA Guidelines Section 15301, as the alterations are considered minor with negligible expansion. The effort is coordinated by Senior Planner Hernan DeSantos for the City of Irvine and project applicant Kirsten Dinger.
