Full Description

Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army, REDCOM, Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army Soldier System Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis with Composix Company, 23 Sisal Street, Newark New Jersey. This effort is to provide the Government with a test and evaluation of medium size Small Arm Protective Inserts (SAPI). The contractor shall furnish all labor, material and equipment nece ssary to provide the prototypes: a. Ceramic tile thickness 0.170, 0.200, 0.230, 0.260, and 0.290 with the tolerance of 0.010 inch the end items (SAPI) shall meet all current weight and dimensional requirements. Twenty (20) prototypes are need for each ceramic tile thickness. Total of o ne hundred (100) SAPIs for each design. b. Ceramic tiles shall be used: Excera tiles, Silit, Hexaloy, and Sinter/HIP tiles made by Saint GoBain. c. Total four designs total 400 prototypes.
