AI Contract Overview
The Department of Defense, through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Huntsville Engineering and Support Center, is seeking to renew a sole-source contract for the Genesis 64 software and its SupportWorx maintenance plan from Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions (MEIDS). This procurement is conducted under a combined synopsis/solicitation with simplified procedures for commercial products, reflecting the proprietary nature of the software. The Genesis 64 system is critical to ongoing facility control operations, and MEIDS is the only authorized provider capable of supplying the necessary licenses and support, as transitioning to a different platform would cause significant operational risks, high costs, and extensive system reengineering. The solicitation is identified by RFQ number W912DY26QA256 and is aligned with NAICS code 541512. Submissions of capabilities statements from other interested parties are allowed until June 9, 2026, but this notice is not a formal request for competitive proposals, and the government retains sole discretion over whether competition will be pursued. The primary point of contact for this procurement is April DeFay, with correspondence and inquiries directed to her email. The renewal supports ongoing efforts at the Washington location and underscores the government's preference to maintain continuity and protect past investments by renewing directly with MEIDS.

Full Description
This purchase order was awarded on a sole-source basis to Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions (MEIDS) using Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Products and Commercial Services authorized under 41 U.S.C. § 1901 and implemented via RFO 12.102(b). The Genesis 64 software and its associated "SupportWorX" plan are proprietary products of MEIDS and there are no authorized resellers. MEIDS is the only source that can provide the required proprietary software licenses to prevent a critical service interruption, protect the Government's substantial past investment, and avoid the prohibitive costs and schedule delays of switching to an alternative solution. The approved justification was included with the combined synopsis/solicitation.
