Memorandum of Understanding relating to Reclamation District 108’s acquisition, management and operation of Fair Ranch

This project is a Memorandum of Understanding between Reclamation District 108, the Yolo Subbasin Groundwater Agency, and the County of Yolo regarding the acquisition, management, and operation of Fair Ranch and its associated water rights. Located near Knights Landing in Yolo County, the property consists of approximately 7,500 acres primarily used for agricultural purposes. Under the agreement, RD 108 will acquire the title to the property and water rights, subject to existing easements and encumbrances. The project is supported by a Notice of Exemption filed on May 26, 2026, which indicates that the acquisition and continued agricultural use of the land are not expected to have significant environmental effects. RD 108 has committed to operating the property in a manner that avoids negative impacts on local water supplies, groundwater resources, habitat, and the local economy. Administrative oversight involves Yolo County Community Services as the lead agency, with Jordon Navarrot of RD 108 and Jeff Anderson of Yolo County serving as primary points of contact.
