The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), supporting the Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (PEO C4I) under the Battlespace Awareness and Information Operations program (PMW 120), has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking industry input on the capability to produce the Meteorological Mobile Facility Replacement Next Generation (METMF(R) NEXGEN) system. This solicitation, issued on October 31, 2011, is strictly for information gathering and planning purposes and is not a solicitation for proposals or an indication that a contract will be awarded. The Navy currently does not seek nor will it accept unsolicited proposals, and respondents are cautioned that the government will not reimburse any costs related to responses to this RFI. The RFI emphasizes that participation is voluntary and that not responding does not exclude parties from potential future solicitations, should they be issued. Any prospective Request for Proposal (RFP) related to this requirement will be announced publicly on designated federal procurement websites, requiring interested parties to actively monitor these sources for updates. The contract falls under the Department of Defense’s Naval Information Warfare Systems office, located in San Diego, California, underscoring the government’s intent to leverage industry expertise in advancing next-generation meteorological mobile facilities for naval applications.

Enabling Technology for Future Missions
Solicitation # 9F063-20260085
The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is soliciting proposals under the Space Technology Development Program (STDP) to develop and advance one to three priority technologies intended to reduce technical uncertainties for future Canadian space missions. This fixed-price procurement focuses on increasing Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) in accordance with CSA-ST-GDL-0001 Revision A guidelines. The identified priority technologies include a lightweight athermal reflecting telescope for CubeSats, readout electronics for large mosaic focal plane arrays, and technologies for the Ground Snow Mass Mission, with maximum funding per contract ranging from 1 million to 2 million Canadian dollars. The project is expected to span 16 months, structured around five key milestones: a kick-off meeting, preliminary design review, detailed design review and work authorization meeting, test readiness review, and a final review meeting. Selection is based on the highest combined rating of technical merit (60%) and price (40%), with additional points available for Indigenous considerations. The contract requires strict adherence to security protocols, including Protected B and Reliability Status, and mandates the use of the Information Sharing with External Partners portal for sensitive data transfers. Performance is subject to rigorous inspection and acceptance processes for both hardware and software, including a 90-day warranty period for custom software.

Commercial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Destination Contract (CLDC) Technical Library
Solicitation # 80JSC025_CLDC_TECH_LIBRARY
The Commercial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Destination Contract (CLDC) Technical Library, managed by the NASA Johnson Space Center, serves as a centralized repository of technical standards, plans, and guidelines for potential offerors. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to support the development of private LEO space destinations and supporting systems as NASA prepares for the retirement of the International Space Station. The library provides a series of data drops containing both controlled and uncontrolled technical data, including standards for docking systems, payload interfaces, and crew health operations. It also outlines specific NASA center capabilities and high-value engineering products available to industry partners to reduce technical and schedule risks. It is important to note that this activity is a special notice and does not constitute a Request for Proposals, Invitation for Bid, or Request for Quotation. No proposals are to be submitted in response to this notice, and it does not represent a commitment by the government to enter into a contract. Access to export-controlled content requires the submission of a specific request form and compliance with U.S. export regulations, including the implementation of Technology Transfer Control Plans and Non-Disclosure Agreements for foreign nationals. The library is intended to keep industry updated on current NASA technical standards in anticipation of future FAR-based acquisitions.
