Minor Structure Rehabilitation - 43/C Guide Rail Improvements

The Town of Halton Hills is soliciting tenders for project 2026-140-T, focusing on the rehabilitation of the guide rail system at Culvert 43/C located on Sixth Line North of 17 Sideroad. The scope of work includes the removal of 163 meters of existing cable guiderail and anchor bolts, the execution of test pit excavations to verify concrete culvert elevations, and the installation of a MASH test level 3 compliant steel beam guiderail system using Type M20 Long Posts. The project also requires comprehensive site restoration, including topsoil placement and seeding, as well as the implementation of traffic control in accordance with OTM Book 7 and Ministry of Labour policies. The contract is expected to be awarded in October 2026, with work commencing within seven days of a written order and completion required within 110 working days. A seasonal shutdown is in effect from December 1st to April 15th annually, and specific milestones must be met by November 2nd. The successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond and a Labour and Material Payment Bond, each equal to 50 percent of the contract price excluding HST, and maintain liability and motor vehicle insurance of at least 5 million dollars per occurrence.
