The U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, plans to modify an existing sole source purchase order with Sierra Research to procure six additional modification kits designed to address out-of-band Radio Frequency emissions produced by ASET IV Radio Transmitters. This procurement includes not only the kits but also the associated technical manuals, drawings, schematics, and parts lists necessary for installation and maintenance. The justification for using a sole source contract is based on the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), indicating that only one responsible source can meet the specific agency requirements, eliminating the possibility of full and open competition. The contract falls under the NAICS code 334511, which pertains to the manufacture of instruments and related products, with a size standard of 750 employees. Although this notice outlines the government’s intent to modify the purchase order, it is not a formal solicitation, and all responsible sources are encouraged to respond. The funding and oversight come under the Department of Defense office located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. This action ensures continued support and compliance with operational standards for Radio Frequency emissions control associated with ASET IV transmitters.
