To prepare for the forecasted severe 2026/27 rainy season, the Airport proposes the temporary installation of a modular K-Rail system between Firestone Road and Firestone Ditch. Historically, inadequate floodwater conveyance in this area caused two airfield closures in 2025 and 2026.
