This proposed Project involves the construction of a traveling screen facility, associated buildings and pipelines, and a 2-acre recharge basin. The traveling screen facility includes a screen structure to house two traveling screens, equipment building that will house spray pumps and recharge pumps for cleaning of the traveling screen facility, a valve vault that will be constructed over existing pipelines to convey water to the traveling screen facility, and associated pipelines to connect the existing pipeline to the traveling screen facility. The 2-acre recharge basin will include an inlet structure, overflow structure, and maintenance road construction around the perimeter of the recharge basin. The Project will result in incidental take of 2 western Joshua tree (Yucca brevifolia), which is protected under the WJTCA and the California Endangered Species Act. The WJTCA ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of western Joshua tree that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
