AI Contract Overview
The Naval Sea Systems Command is moving forward with the production phase of the Multi-Mission Reconnaissance Craft (MMRC) Bravo variant, following a successful prototype evaluation under a Defense Innovation Unit Other Transaction agreement awarded to The Whiskey Project Group in August 2023. This next phase, anticipated to be formalized by summer 2026, will involve the manufacture of at least ten MMRC Bravo vessels equipped with integrated communication, navigation, sensing systems, auxiliary gear, and comprehensive maintenance, training, and sustainment support tailored specifically for U.S. Marine Corps expeditionary operations under the Expeditionary Small Boats initiative. The production effort builds directly on the prototype’s validated performance and will be executed under the original OT framework, with The Whiskey Project Group LTD or its U.S. subsidiary as the sole contractor. This solicitation is issued as a sources-sought notice under NAICS code 336612 for boat building, with no set-aside designation, aimed at gathering industry input ahead of final contract award. The contract opportunity is managed by NAVSEA Headquarters in Washington Navy Yard, DC, with performance expected to occur primarily in Edenton, North Carolina. Primary point of contact for inquiries is Jerry Low at the U.S. Navy, with a response deadline of May 15, 2026. While the OT production agreement was previously awarded to TWPG based on prototype success, this notice seeks to confirm industry capacity and readiness for subsequent production scaling, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and supply chain readiness.
