Murray Drain - Van Straaten cut-off Drain and Kiry Drain

The Township of Perth South is soliciting lump sum bids for the construction and improvement of several municipal drainage systems, specifically the Murray Drain (Van Straaten Cut-Off), Kiry Drain, Ballantyne Drain, and Van Nes Drain. The scope of work includes the installation of 503 meters of concrete tile and HDPE pipe for the Murray Drain, 1,797 meters of concrete field tile and HDPE sewer pipe for the Kiry Drain, and 330 linear meters of open ditch cleanout for the Ballantyne Drain. Additional requirements involve the installation of catch basins, rodent gates, quarry stone rip-rap bank protection, rock chutes, and the construction of road culverts under Line 29 and sediment basins. Tenderers must be skilled in similar drainage works and provide evidence of licensing in Ontario, along with a tabulation of current contracts and their completion percentages. Submissions must include a bid bond or certified cheque for 10 percent of the tender price and a declaration that at least 75 percent of goods and services originate from Ontario or Canada. The successful contractor is required to maintain 2 million dollars in property damage liability insurance and provide a labour and materials bond for 50 percent of the contract price. Payment is subject to a 10 percent statutory holdback, which increases to 13 percent if the contract is not bonded. Final acceptance of the work is contingent upon inspections by the Engineer or Superintendent to ensure strict adherence to the January 2020 specifications and profile drawings.
