Napa County Regional Climate Action and Adaptation Plan

Napa County, in partnership with the cities of American Canyon, Calistoga, Napa, and St. Helena, and the Town of Yountville, is advancing a regional initiative to combat climate change through the development and implementation of a comprehensive Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. This collaborative effort targets key sources of greenhouse gas emissions including vehicle travel, electricity consumption, and natural gas use, with the goal of significantly reducing emissions across the county. The plan also prioritizes building community resilience to the escalating impacts of climate change, such as extreme heat, wildfire risk, and water insecurity, ensuring that infrastructure, public services, and natural resources are better prepared for future challenges. The initiative is being led by Napa County’s Sustainability team, with Jesse Gutierrez, Principal Planner - Sustainability, serving as the primary point of contact for coordination and engagement. The project is publicly forecasted with a posted date of July 29, 2026, and is accessible through the California Environmental Quality Act’s online project tracking system.
