The work involves repairing coastal navigation structure assets, including riprap placement along the toe of the bulkhead at Point Pleasant Canal to enhance stability, and restoring a degraded gabion revetment at Cape May Canal. The scope at Cape May will be reduced from previous plans to about 220 linear feet of repair, involving sediment excavation, removal of deteriorated gabion baskets, placement of rock mattresses, additional riprap, and site stabilization with planting. The Point Pleasant Canal work targets stabilization of a sheet pile wall subject to scour and erosion through riprap installation. The anticipated contract value ranges between $1 million and $5 million, with a performance period of 365 calendar days after the notice to proceed.
