NOBH - Cosmetology/Barber Services

The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) is inviting proposals for providing cosmetology and barber services at the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital, a 114-bed inpatient facility for adults with acute mental illnesses. This initiative is aligned with OhioMHAS's mission to provide premium mental health and addiction recovery services across Ohio, intending to improve the quality of life of patients by offering professional cosmetology assistance. The selected contractor is required to possess a valid beautician or barber license from the State of Ohio and must ensure this license is maintained throughout the duration of the contract. Professional standards related to employee health, safety, effective service delivery, and sanitation must be strictly adhered to. The contractor will provide their own equipment and supplies necessary to offer services including men's and women's haircuts, shampooing and conditioning, combination shampoo/condition/cuts, and beard trims. The period during which these services will be rendered is from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027, with all services being performed on the premises of the Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital. To ensure a comprehensive service offering, the contractor may also provide optional extra services for purchase by individual patients, with a detailed list and pricing structure to be included in their proposal. The coordination of working hours will be decided in agreement with the Clinical Services Director.
