Responses to questions regarding the COVERED DUMPSTER Questions Q 1. Please explain what the government means by covered open top. Do you expect the contractor to ensure the open-top dumpsters are shrouded when picking up the full dumpster? If not, please specify what kind of covered open-top you require? Is there a particular brand/model? The dumpster is required to have a covered top so water doesn't get into the dumpster. The dumpsters do not need to shrouded when picking up the dumpster. Dumpster must have a hinged top for easy removal by the contractor's equipment; no particular brand or model. Q 2. If the dumpster is to be covered, how will the government load the dumpster? Since the covered dumpster will have a hinge, the top will be opened by USDA employee and the loaded hopper will be dumped into the dumpster using a forklift. Q 3. Is the facility physically located on the Miami International Airport property? Yes, the facility is on airport property. Q 4. Please provide the process established for gate entry, pick-up and change, and security requirements. At the gate entry the driver will sign in; pickup and exchange dumpsters. The facility is within a fenced-in area and access is controlled by the gate, therefore there are no specific security requirements. Pickup times are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Q 5. Please provide the estimated wait time the contractor must plan for when coming to service the dumpsters. The USDA will call or email when the dumpsters are ready for pickup; wait time is only as long as it takes to sign in and go through the gate. There is no waiting for the dumpsters to be ready. The response date remains unchanged.
