Subject: Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract – Sequencing Bundibugyo virus disease (BDBV) in the 2026 outbreak
Description: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a Sole Source firm-fixed price purchase order to The University of Liverpool for the Sequencing Bundibugyo virus disease (BDBV) in the 2026 outbreak, in accordance with the authority under FAR Part 6.103-1, Only One Responsible Source. This procurement is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12 (RFO). The NAICS Code for this action is 541714 - Research and Development in Biotechnology (except Nanobiotechnology).
The primary objective of this requirement is to obtain critical reagents such as procure reference standards and internal standards to perform bioanalytical method development and sample analysis to determine the quantification of CYP enzyme substrates/metabolites and transporter substrates in hepatocyte experiments.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon a response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
